There is a piece of ribbon that the bulbs make contact with , because lots of it is wired in Series if you have one break lots of stuff goes on the blink , might be worth bridging power directly to the main +/- points on the display

It will either fix it or it wont and its not a big job

I fixed a break in mine yesterday and bridged betwwen 2 points to get the oil light going.

:thumbs im not the best when it comes to fine electrical work..... got very unsteady hands:eek: will i have to take the back completley off the instrument panel?

If it's any use my Scenic dash went which is very common. I sent it away to a repairer and got it fixed and back within 3 days. I posted the details in "Willows good Garage Guide" posting so you'll have to go looking for it.

its amazing what you can fix with the good old duck tape:D should be in every tool box!!!!!!:lol

got to be werth a try....it worked on mine:clap the bulb seems to make the connection........ i put the tape on the white backing pice to the dash so as you push it back on it pushes on the bulb:) so making the connection yours may be the same!!!! so out with the duck tape( or has been know in some circles as gaffa tape}:D

Don't know why but I've allways known it as "gaffer tape"

Jim T

Different product, gaffer tape is what they use in TV studios and music concerts. Very good, waterproof, sticks well and tears easily. Duck tape is a poor copy. Proper gaffer tape on ebay for smallish money, duck tape available most diy shops. Oh yeah, the real gaffer tape doesn't stretch like duck tape.
