Hi Lads and lassies,

I was changing the belts today and decided to investigate my oil leak and i ended up finding a diesel leak instead. uh oh. i will link some photos so the following description might make some sense.

Looking at the engine from the front, on the left hand side directly underneath the intercooler down pipe into throttle section there looks to be at least four metal pipes, from just above there but under the throttle area there was fuel leaking a drip every ten seconds. i placed some cardboard under to double check and it is definately diesel. i could not see up high enough to see where it was coming from exactly but is this where the fuel lines go in to the engine?

i will post pictures once i get home but any help here would be grand.

cheers

As R1cho said, leak off pipes! The metal pipes will be ok but there are some small black flexi pipes going from one injector to the other, they break down and leak, replace those and you'll sort it. Take the intercooler off and you will see exactly what i mean :thumb2

Cover the pipe where the intercooler fits so that you don't drop any crap inside. It's the diesel congealed with muck that looks like black oil, so not really an oil leak so there is a bright side :thumbs

Ahh cool thats good to know. Right thats fridays mission then to get that sorted. What sort of clips do you lads reccomend?

Definately wee oil leak from the gearbox area so will have to check that out more and will post some pictures of where it is. Cheers again lads

Don't be fooled, that's what i thought at first and it had just dribbled down from leak offs, I hope :lol

Ahh cool. There definately looks like two different leaks as in the morning theres a tiny 50p size blob of oil on the ground and this larger more to the from splatter of diesel ish oil stuff that now makes sense.

I mean hey if its just the leak offs im definately not going to complain haha. Cheers lads
