Well if you did, you're a Grade 1 plonker - just like me!
But the good news is it doesn't matter.
Many years ago on a very late on a dark cold rainy night on the M6 I pulled into the services with my 2.7 TDi's tank almost empty...kids were moaning like stink in the back so I wasn't paying attention and filled up with unleaded.
Didn't notice what I'd done so jumped back in, floored the throttle as usual and vanished into the night. I think from memory I got about 5-6 miles before the damn thing sputtered to a halt, at which point I had one of those 'flashback' moments and realised what I'd done.
Waited an hour for a towtruck which took me to a little garage in Grange-over-Sands, where the next day i was charged about £100 to completely drain and flush the system, but since the old girl has done about 110k miles since then, I think its safe to say there were no ill effects!
So for gods sake don't do it, but if you do, its only your wallet that will get damaged in the process...!
