Has anyone had experience of Diamondbrite. When I bought my Xtrail recently the dealer tried to sell the treatment to me for £300 wow!!
What polish could be worth that much.
Any views would be welcome

I used to be a valeter for a LR Dealership. We used to sell plenty of Supaguard, which is the same sort of thing. Polish definately looks good the first time round, but won't last three years like they tell you. The upholstery protector is meant to be quite good though.

Overall, I wouldn't pay £300

Thanks for the reply Neil,

Is Supaguard good, I normally use Autoglym which I have always found quite good.

Best regards Aggy

£300 for polish, what is so special about it and how big is the bottle aggy?:doh.

Hi , I too have an x trail polished it with maguires polish and the wax. Its briliant stuff look on their website and watch the demo videos, realy does make it shine and you will have change out of £20.

How can you have so much time spare to even consider washering a car, let alone doing all that wax on wax off ballux:eek:
Get a life guys it'll rain soon enough and save you the bother:cool:

DETAILING WORLD You seen the rest now vist the best.
This site is awesome and some of the turn around (before/afters) is just amazing

If you want Autoglym life shine kit just ask any valeter and they can get the kit off the local sales rep and do the job for a fraction of the cost

Makeitfit,

Thanks for the totally useless and unecessary reply, that sort of reply is not exactly helpful to any club member and is not what we expect from someone who has made over 2000 postings.

well said that man!

I used to have 2 grand vitaras one with the 'super guard' treatment and one without, an i couldn't tell the difference! not that i wash cars often. To be honest i would say the one without faired a little better paintwork wise.

I pulled up next to a mates jeep v8 yesterday big chrome wheels, low profile tyres, stainless everyhting, blaked out windows etc. My vehicle covered in mud and half a bail of straw hanging out the back a proper 4x4! I have never wahsed it, life is too short!

You're welcome:D
That many already:eek: I need to get out more:lol
Anyway up I still say it's a waste of time so there:cool:

:lol:lol:lol:lol Thats the funniest thing I heard all week!!!! Can't wait for your 11th post!

Aggy,

Supaguard polish is very good as it is full of glossing agents to give it plenty of shine, so when it is first done it looks great, however its expensive because it is meant to last 3 - 5 years without having to be polished again, and that is absolute rubbish. Plus you get all the interior treatments as well.

Its quite simple, if you want a car to look good, you need to clean it regularly. Autoglym will do just fine for this. Depending on how old your car is and what the paint is like, will effect whether you need a heavier or lighter polish. A lighter polish for newer paint as it is lots easier to put on and take off.

Or,

You can keep it splattered in mud - apparently thats just as good.

Sorry, I'm a bit anal when it comes to cleaning cars.

ADZ - your opinion on claying would be useful....:thumbs

£4.95 ,thats a lot of money just to polish a car, and you have to provide the labour, and wash it first. I will give it a swerve! :lol

as i said we had 2 2002 grand vitaras:
one we kept until 90K miles with no diamond brite.

the other at 40k with £300 diamond bright treatment has had more paintwork issues

there was no diffferentce in the interior / carpets!
