p.s on the way home saw the whole cast of emmerdale sat outside a pub in hope valley

Hi all and glad everyone enjoyed it, atleast there were no tears IN the trucks
Stoph, nice to meet you hope to see you out again and that you only
went home to sell the mondeo not the t2.

Sniffer, nice to meet you too and thanks for the IT lesson  started saving

Dinky, think your cb aeriel nearly hipnotised us and now i know my tb's do
need winding up. Now got some extra reasons to get Elty's roof rails on
to mount a hi lift amd waffles etc.

Dadba, good to see tonka in the metal, talk about feeling inadequate and
when i grow up etc.

Big G and Co, nice to see you again thanks for the b'day cake hope you
all have fun on some more white knuckle rides at alton towers.

Elty and Co, thanks for the bars mate and the offer of the wheel carrier,
my mate might get a t2 now having seen yours and the price etc.

Ian and Co, thanks for all the hard work pulling yesterday together we
all really appreciate the effort.

finally my mate, also Richard, said how much he enjoyed it even if he
was late for the hockey game 8) said how friendly we all are and quick
to welcome a new face, well tough, that how we are
Think he caught bug too, fancies a 7 seater impressed what basically
stock trucks can do.

Heres to next time.

just for interest and future trips happy o suggest 2 more

between crosspool and houndkirk.

will try to add x marks the spot links.

heather day

we only came down pindale rbrt and i got a bit adventuros and followed ian and gordan down one of the decents and got hooked up on my side steps, gave it a bit of right foot and she came loose.we all kissed goodbye and headed off home.i heard that clough lane had beed tro'ed buy one of my mates in peak and dukeries lr club.(mind you he's got a landrover so what would he know  )
not aimed at you ian, youve not let us down yet

re clough lane hope not but no signage to say so and very clear byway signs each end.

had to squeeze past a car parked at top end, gave em a suprise

the other one said unsuitable for motors...now why do they say that
as makes it more of a challange. some logs had 'fallen' on lane but
easily moved and a bit was being 'repaired' but squeezed thru, guess
dadba would have just gone over offending rockery.

had a look at other entrance to houndkirk along side of plantation,
jumble lane?. looked easy, must have been repaired as sure has
been described as a bomb hole on mudclub or difflock.

Nice one Ian.... but whatever you do dont tell Caroline that I was out bouncing up and down in the countryside with Katherine :p :p :p  on Saturday!!

heather day

your truck got dirty during the day why?
hope the scratches come out.
must have been the mr messy t shirt i was wearing that attracted the dirt to my truck. most of it was dust that stuck to the water which came from the large puddle the kids forced me to drive through(honest) at the end of the grouse moor.
can i just say i really enjoyed doing some of the lanes the other way round.even though i had driven a few of them before it was like being on totally different lanes.
very pleased with my new truck and how it performed not quite got the low end grunt of the deisel but a bit more gas sorted that out and had to ride the brakes a bit on steep decents but all good fun.
looking forward to the next time we can get out and get dirty together(well me at least)

hi Ian, yes over that side of town at a birthdy party so decided
to let Kayla have a little bounce on way home.

Just to add so glad that route was reversed as meant got to tick
off several lanes that on previous trips have missed due to leaving
for home just after lunch or mid afternoon.

Despite Houndkirk being in my back yard, its the first crossing Ive
made since about 1987 in my old ford escort, yes seriously
reckon surface has changed since then though was more of a rough
cobbled surface then which i had to frequently get out and inspect
due to obvious clearance issues. survived though other than loosing
exhaust tail section. that gate by the bbq was a pig too, on my own
and wouldnt stay open, ended up propping open with trolley jack!

did trap lane at same time was boat then as now though for atleast
15 years inbetween was down graded to a bridleway. maybe proof
that nerc wasnt all bad. certainly recommend clough lane uphill. bit
like another short boat near Totley firing ranges, " Strawberry Lee Ln",
steep gravel rutted.

additionally Beauchief Drive off Abbey Lane is worth a look if only for
view of old beauchief Abbey.

Again this was downgraded but I believe boat status restored.

My pal was texting r20s on ebay last night, impressed at what
even a grand can buy, suggested HB's but he wants a 7 seater.

Now you no why i don't bring Karen (Kaz) because she didn't try to enjoy it and spoiled it a bit for me and the lads where as Alton Towers she was in her elliment. Did you do any vidioing Ian ?. Gordon.
