Re: Moor lane ?

Ian this is where the road gets too narrow for my tyres.

However I do have narrower wheels/tyres to use but they are road tyres.

They are the ones on the left.

the lane in questionis a boat in sheffield in the rivlin valley, guess
would potentially be on route to the dam end of stanage.

Andy has just sent me some pix of disco going thru the stone posts
tbh if its def the i recall from year gone by the surface has vastly
improved but its just as narrow

Depends what Sat-Nav you use
if its a self contained one then you'll probably struggle to get them all, I use a PDA with Tomtom on it and Memory Map for the Greenlaning

Right... time for the questions... interested in coming along but need to sort a few bits first... standard T2 LWB Tdi with towbar, nothing lower than the front bumper, AT tyres on the back at least.. fronts not quite so chunky, only had my T2 for 2 weeks so still getting used to it...
1. will a standard T2 make your planned route without destroying itself in the process? Need to be able to use daily as well as have fun!
2. Am I likely to need any special equipment apart from a prayer mat?
3. Cant make start time as kids off to their dads for weekend and wont be gone till about 10.00 so would just be me and other half, Caroline. Is their anywhere we could rendezvouz(sp?) with you on the route around lunchtime or is that not practical? Have to get across to you from Knutsford.
4. No CB, off road driving limited to autotests and rallying 20 years ago so looks like it could be fun...

Sorry for so many questions but would be good to come along and meet a few people if we can fit around our weird (but quite common these days) family arrangements..

You'll love it mate and so will your T2.
Am sure Ian (organiser) will sort a rendezvous out for you  -welldone-

Not able to make this one,if you have a swan neck towbar, take the swan neck off!!
You and your T2 will love it,and you'll be fine with Ian in charge

Yeah as everyone has said you'll be fine  if you like it & plan to do it again then I would think about getting a CB as the chat over it can be priceless

What's a CB :?:

Seriously though guys have a great day and think of me going to a family party at the outlaws

hello to all.
looks as though we will be able to drive the grouse moor as long as the weather holds.
if so first lane will be Hurstclough lane followed by leeside road both driven opposite way round to normal then out to ladybower dam .
turn right at T junction then first left take right split then grousemoor is on the right hand side after passing two roads to the left.
A 5 bar gate starts the lane ,than a climb up the hillside, this can be
quite wet in places so engage 4x4 at start of lane /track .
after the climb over the hill side a gentle decent follows and in the valley we join another lane ,onto which we turn left .
The problem here is there are some ruts/tracks we have to cross/join.
I did it quite easy in the terrano last year although its a bit of an axle twister.
I will have some mud boards and ropes with me so no problem.
three more lanes follow then we are back on home ground although we will be driving most the other way around.
