OK, so my 1996 2.7TDi SWB Maverick is heading for that 4x4 graveyard in the sky! But, not before I take her & carrier van for one last trip to North Wales and back.
A friend has found me a friendly local farmer who will lend me a barn to strip it down in, with no time limit for £100. It's dry and reasonably secure, being overlooked by his security camera's. So I'll start stripping about beginning of July.
She was totally trouble-free around the Devon hills a few weeks back, so missus wants to go to North Wales sea-side for one last holiday with this truck.
After that I will be taking her apart piece by piece.
I need to make about £750 to pay a deposit on a Motability car, so I'm hoping to get that and maybe a bit more.
ALL the running gear is good and serviceable including tyres (3x New) etc., electrics all work fine and nothing leaks, or any other problems so if you want to reserve something, let me know and I'll make a list.
What I will say is the front RH wing is gone under the plastic cowling, but I think the left is ok, I haven't looked! But I will, just to make sure.
There is a Brand New (3x months) Tow Bar & Twin electrics with all relevant relays etc cost £200!, as I say everything works 100%, it's the rot that's buggered it up!
Oh, and by the way, it's still got 6 months MOT on it.

So sad to hear this story vehicles can be replaced, your heath not that easy.good luck at least you are coming into God's country before you start. I myself am struggling to move etc, had some serious flue over Christmas and New Year, in bed for 10 days, when I eventually got up I was falling everywhere( and no it was not alcohol induced) doctor baffled and sent me to neurology in Walton Centre for various tests and the outcome is that my legs, {short as they may be are ok) so off again on Wed for a MRI scan on brain and spine,I just managed to finish refurb on both of the terrano's,before my balance and legs deteriorated and this is someone who needs to finish Offa's Dyke walk, just another 30 miles to do and at the moment I can't walk 30 feet without a sick, isn't life a bitch sometimes, so I could be in the same position, having to sell both of my terrano's,perish the thought, but hey-ho fight it to the end.

My problems started in 1993.
I was working over the top edge of a lift when a guy I was working with decided to send it up! I was virtually cut in half!
Most of my ribs were broken, plus my sternum, a few bones in my back, shoulder blades and I lost my left lung, plus 8" of bone lost from my right ulna.
Two years later I was in a "Head-On" car crash and broke both my legs, shattered both knee caps and a few minor injuries. I was driving, but ended up sitting in the back seat with the engine crushing my legs!
12 months later I got cancer, which spread from my left hand up into my chest. My left arm was virtually removed to access the tumours in my armpit and upper chest. I then had an experimental vaccine treatment for the cancer which had serious side effects, including severe arthritis and heart problems, a while later I had a 6 way heart by-pass surgery that burst 4x times and had my chest "Cracked open" each time!
A couple of years ago I started to have problems lifting my right arm because my collar bone kept dis-jointing every time I lifted my arm. Last year a surgeon found a small length of wire lodged in my sterno-clavicular joint.
It was left in after the last operation on my heart and had found its way into the joint. A surgeon operated to remove the wire last November, but unfortunately it had wrecked the joint and a few months ago my sterno-clavicular joint was removed by cutting straight through my collar bone and also removing part of the sternum. Now I have a floating collar bone, not joined to anything, which is why I can't do repairs to my truck!
Those are just some of my problems! I'm also married!!!!!!!

Well I'm moanin and in comparison there's nothin wrong with me,your will is amazing,it's people like you that deserves awards not some pratt on stage singing! If you need to borrow a terrano off me for your hols into Wales no problem anytime p.m me,I would be honoured

That's a kind offer, thanks, but not necessary.
My old girl will manage.

And that's another generous thought, thank you.
My trip to Loch Ken at Easter was cancelled due to the snow.
But, we'll be there over August bank holiday instead! Hopefully!!
