Ahh day off a couple of little jobs and then take it easy :thumb2

ive got a weekend of jobs to do on the terrano - new rubber for the inner wheel arch, remove I/C and clean up ready for glow plug change, gearbox oil change, transmission oil change, power steering fluid change and sort out some surface rust on them sills!

Wish I had the time to do all that Clivvy. I'm away this weekend and next so no time for that sort of thing. Still on the bright side the bar will be very cheap this weekend. Up to the dales next weekend but doubt I'll get much chance for green lanes.

Can you take some pics of when you do your gearbox oil change so I know how to do it and I'll create a workshop download :thumb2
 
A good tip from an old member that was a guru of these trucks was to go for a good run to get it nice and warm. Apparently it makes the drain plug a lot easier to remove.

if you do that then wear gloves when you remove the plug or you could burn yourself
 
Anyhow been outside in the sun and polished the Polo. Check the oil and stuff ready for a run up the A1 tonight. Then steal my truck back off the Mrs

And the oil less viscous so will drain quicker, give it a little rock side to side as well :thumb2

i have used a oil suction gun for years they are spot on for the gearbox ont terrano as have a 12in flexible hose hold about 1 pint think it was 9£ had it for a long time i am 71 and still do as much as i can you know its bin done reet.

hmm...ill have a look for one, sounds a good idea. How do you go about it, fill the suction gun then push the oil into the gearbox?

yes thats it you will never look back you can suc oil out of PS in one go no mess
 
Have fun this weekend Clivvy, I'll keep checking in to see how you've done. North Yorkshire here I come ready or not.
