Unless you get 12v LED's make sure you use 470Ohm resistors in the positive feed to the LED's. Good luck and let us know how you get on I might do it myself.

Not having the Mav to hand but what is involved in getting the dash panel off to swap out the bulbs? Right hand dial bulb has gone TU

If you take out the ash tray their is 2 screw at the bottom of the fromt panel, then under the ledge above the heater panel their is 2 more screws. Once you have removed these just give the front panel a tug & it'll come off :smile: If it seems stuck at the top next to the heater vents push it downwards to free the top clips.
I think the heater control panel is held in by screws at the front :? hope this helps a bit

Hi Lou Lou, allow a good part of a day to do this as there is nothing worse than half way through and you have to go out and the dash board is in bits :lol:

Remember if it doesn't come loose , don't force it could be something hidden holding it fast and you don't want to snap anything.:wink:

Just make sure you have the correct bulbs before you take the dash off unless you have another vehicle to go and get the parts.

For the dashboard on the Mistral they are

12v 5w T-10mm wedge bulb :wink:

DASHBOARD LIGHTS

Jim T (and any others interested) Progress report !!!
Got a bunch of 20 x 10mm 12volt red LEDs off ebay. Drilled four 10mm holes under the radio "shelf" as mentioned before. Pinched the pos supply off the cig lighter lamp, installed this pos and an earth to a connector block , soldered all four LEDs in parallel and connected into new block.
These LEDs have a projection angle of 30degrees and they fan out to cover all the dull area I had hoped to improve, the gear shift, heater controls etc.
Chuffed with the result, lovely warm glow in the front area. (of the waggon that is).
I now have 16 LEDs left and looking to see what else to do----Might make a bespoke high level brake light up. 8)

Hi Chaster :smile: We'll have to watch out as your be getting a TV show soon called pimp my T2 :lol: :lol: :lol: You could fit the onesyou've got left into the spare wheel cover & work off the tail lights or brake lights :roll:

Look on the bright side -rotfl- if you are out at night and have a roll over, everyone will be able to see you :wink:

I am about to embark on a full dash and cluster light replacement on my 95 Mistral (got my 20 x white LED's in hand and ready to go !!!)

dont know if this will help you out.put new bulbs in my dash today as it was looking very dark and i couldn't see the temp or fuel gauge readings in the dark.looks like blackpool now:lol

Got them done but the LED's are buggers to put in and very poor contact on many of them.

Lessons learnt;

1. Run your fuel down so that the low fuel light is on
2. Make sure you start your engine frequently so you don't run down your battery
3. RTFM!!!!
