Hey there I'm looking to do an led conversion on my dash and was wondering what bulbs I need for the dials etc. You see i want to illuminate the needles and make a proper job of it. A pic of the back of the cluster would be awesome!

What are the heater ones ?

Not sure about the heater ones, I meant to do mine a while back. As for led conversion, 96Terrano has done his, he will be able to help. The rear of the cluster is like a price of floppy plastic with all the electrical connections to the bulbs, I'll see if I have a pic.....

For those that are cringing at the thought, it's called a flexible circuit board, and are very reliable, however they are not suitable for continued disconnect/ connect applications, as the conductive part wears away, so take care.:augie

Best regards, Rustic

I still think your description is better though....:lol:lol

Just to clarify, the following is about computer storage devices....
Do you remember when you had 7" floppies, :augie, then they put 1.4mb on to a 4 1/2" disc
Not enough for 1 picture at low resolution these days.

oh yes! I was VERY young mind you, and as I was in high school, they were migrating to floppy disks (3.5) and cd rom, which were amazing at the time. I always remember the library PC had a new cd rom, one of those where you had to remove the caddy to put the cd in, and it had a resource on it, full of high res pictures of frogs and grass etc!

ultramods they are good price wise and with their deliverys roy:clap

Search for threads on here. A couple of members posted photos of the finished dash. To me it looked a bit patchy with bright areas. There were also a couple of recent threads about bulb types too.

I plan on controlling the brightness with photographic flash gels, and acetate to diffuse the light. I've done similar with ccfls on a Renault dash befor1 :)

Yep I've done the dash and heater control. I'll get some pics of bulbs up at some point. Ohh and the links for where I got everything:thumbs. Ohh don't forget the glove box light too!!:thumbs
