One word of caution if towing, the chassis breaks in half and its a lot more common than we are told...google that for a start... Early engines stay away from, and rear diff is really weak, I've watched a brand new diff spit the bits all over the floor negotiating very minor off-roading and it was driven by a Nissan salesman demonstrating the truck to a farmer. other than that they are OK, however I would choose ANYTHING else over a Navara d40 unless brand new. Sorry.

Yeah I've heard of them snapping in half behind the cab between that and the rear pickup bit, I've seen one at the side of the road like that :eek: :doh
 


Now ya talkin, a good old fashioned ute with a great donk fitted up front. They only suffer from bush wear on the front suspension which is easy to fix and rust in front x member... D22's are great trucks shame they didn't continue the engineering into the D40.
I really hate to say avoid D40 but they have a real bad rep.
