just the seals and prob main stealers that is all, Rick

Ill sort out getting them, and let you know once I have. The only Stealer round here I know of, is over in Dartford, and on my one trip there in the past, when I first got the car, and before I signed up here, I was very unimpressed, as they struggled to even find any info on the T2, and when they finally did find the stuff, they wanted £80 for the 4 plastic covers that go over the steering stops. Needless to say, I did not get them, and put copper slip on them instead. Since then, I have been using our local motor factor.

Anyway, thank you once again.

£6 each for a seal that sounds a bit steep or is it me:lol

I agree, but I guess it is all about demand, and they do not have a huge amount of demand from the sounds of it.

I called my local Express factors, and they do not do them, and I am just waiting for the main stealer to get back to me. I must admit I reckon that the ebay ones will be cheaper and arrive quicker than them though.

This is the reply I have just received....

I have received your email regarding your Terrano. The oil seals are £3.33 each plus vat. Unfortunately it is not an item that is stocked in the UK and is a special order from Japan.

However I can get theses in of course, but there will be a delay of about 3-4 weeks. Payment is also required in full before the seals are ordered and are non-returnable. The best course of

Action if you deicide to go ahead and order the seals would be to pop into Our dealership and pay by cash or card and give us your home address, as I can post the parts to you when they come in.

Ebay it is I guess, since the £6 inc postage, it is not as badly over the top as I first thought.

ip injection pump have a look from under truck with bash plate off under the ip the metal pipe does run under engine towards the aircon pump if this vac pump is allowed to keep pumping ie vac pipe has hole or u leave it off to test engine:augie it pushes load of air in to sump and top end i thought after replacing the ip on my truck took for spin oil was going everywhere pushing out of the dip stick and breathing heavy out of the ccvb thought shit engine gone put pipe back on and all was well :augie you never no might be ur problem might not

Had a look properly today, The vacuum pump is behind the IP as you said, don't think there is a leak anywhere though, as all the pipes look fine. I disconnected the vacuum hose from the brake servo, and and then just lightly pushed it back on, so I could get it off easily. I started the car, let it run for a couple of mins, then turned it off, and left if for 2 mins. When I pulled to pipe off, the vacuum was still there, so I guess that any leak would be pretty small, if there was one.

Thanks for the heads up though.

It smokes badly as you start it up, then dies down.
It also smokes if you accelerate hard away from a junction.
It also smokes after you coast down a hill, when you put the power back on, at the bottom to go back up the other side.

When you just sit at idle, it smells, but you can't really see any smoke.

Reving the engine seems to be a bit random, sometimes it smokes, sometimes it is ok.

Nissan's lead time is always pessimistic. 3-4 weeks will probably mean you'll see them in about 10days!
Keep in mind a full head set includes valve stem oil seals and will have every other gasket you might need depending on what you eventually find is wrong.

I found some on the net think it was around £5.00 for the set, but threw the address away as thought you were sorted, will try and find it again, Rick
