Cv replacement

Just doing my front passenger side outer cv the question is that with the new kit you get a small black o ring now on the splines that go into the new cv there is a groove about an inch down the splines now does the o ring sit in there because if it does the splines only go in to that point

Assuming you have knocked the CV of off the shaft, then there should be a circlip in the groove to stop the shaft popping out never heard of a rubber one, Rick

Did my CV joints on my T2 a few months back.No rubber O ring.
