Did a search but not come up with how. I did replace the cv 6 months ago but now inner boot has split. So how does cv come of drive shaft I'm pretty sure you tap it off over the spring clips. Is this right as my memory is crap as got boot ready

I found it easiest (after advice from Rick and others) to complete remove the CV assembly. 8 bolts on the diff flange, relatively easy to access.
Then grip the cv shaft in a vice, and gently tap the inner cv off using rubber hammer. Did not take a lot of force at all.

Replace boot, pack grease, reassemble, and wait for the next part to give way :)

Sweet cheers bud that exactly what I wanted to here. I was pretty sure that was how but slept a few times since then lol and I've got pay and play day Sunday so need to get it done before then so could be lunch time today it gets attacked. Shame it didn't go last Friday as renewed top ball joint then would have been half way there but at least bolts will come undone

If I remember correctly, I managed to remove the cv without having to undo the top balljoint...

As above, but mind the lower shock bracket gets in the way. I carefully bent one side to let the CV joint clear it, but I wouldn't want to do that too often

All sorted remove top ball joint 4 bolts and undo bottom of shock. Pull drive shaft out done!
