Looking good... it's sort of giving me the inspiration to have a go at mine now...

Look forward to seeing how silver looks in the dash, it will be so much better than that horrible wood effect, just not sure if it can beat black yet though.

Cheers Clive:thumbs Mine came from the factory with a silver centre dash & not the wood effect:D I had thought about doing it the same silver as the body but that would mean having to repaint my armrest:doh I went with the blade silver as in the shop it looked the same colour as the factory silver dash but it was miles off but I did like the colour a lot as it has more depth & a lot of metallic in it:augie Will have to do the gear sticks surround next so it matches the dash & armrest & I won't have the mark on it where the last owner stuck something on it as that's been bugging me since I bought the truck.
Anyway just sprayed the second coat of clear coat on the dash so just waiting for it to dry in the shed as i've got the heater on in there:thumbs

Clear coat is now touch dry:D so have put it in the spare room to harden off fully for a couple of days then can use some G3 rubbing compound so get a super smooth finish before it gets a polish:augie Thinking of adding some carbon wrap to where the vents were as the bezels of the gauges are also silver so it should give a nice contrast but nothing set in stone yet:lol
Anyway here's a pic

Well at long last it's finished:D mounted the gauges & it looked good but thought i'd add some carbon wrap in the recess around the gauges to make them stand out a bit more:augie Next job is to sort out the wiring & get the centre dash fitted & the boost gauge plumbed in as the new blue silicone vac/boost pipe arrived today:thumbs Just hoping Nissan didn't change the main dash as the rear of the gauges are sitting a little lower than planed & will stop the top part of the stereo opening fitting flush with the main dash if it comes down that low:doh could be worrying over nothing tho so will have to wait until I fit it & if the main dash needs a trim it'll be getting one:lol The only thing left to do is remove the gear stick surround & repaint it so it matches the new centre dash & armrest but on the plus side the mark on the gear surround the last owner made from sticking something onto it will be gone at last as it's always bugged me. Will put up some pic's once all is fitted:thumbs

Looking good, how far off original colour is it?

The colour is a few shades off from what Nissan covered the part with but the factory has a tiny gold'ish sort of tint to the silver. My armrest looked ok due to the distance it is from the dash but close together the difference I think would show up a lot:doh

Well got it all fitted today just the gear stick surround to go in tomorrow:D I had to replace the boost gauge tubing as the old & new gauges use different pipework but that was a blessing as I found the old pipe from the T piece to be badly cracked in many place & don't know how I never lost any boost pressure due to it:eek: but that's all been replace nice blue silicone pipe now:D When I came to fitting the centre dash it wouldn't fit due to the plastic cross bar on the dash where the hazard switch is (MK4 with single din stereo) so had to trim it a bit with a hacksaw so the rear of the gauges cleared it. I blocked up the centre air vents ducting in the dash with 1/2 a car sponge in each ducted & then used gaffer tape to seal it all off which has worked perfectly:thumbs
Day time

Night view

Will get some better pic's tomorrow in the daylight of the dash, gear stick surround & my custom arm rest as it all matches now:D Just got to start making a trim panel to go around my CB for when it gets fitted into the cubby hole:augie

I have to say that personally I would rather have the vents but you have made a really neat job there Sweety. Well done:clap

What's the green things on top of the dash?
