what's the best exhaust set up? keep a box in or just straight through? will noise be a mot failure?

on my mini kit car,

1275cc

had a cherry bomb.. was JUST inside legal limit.

was stopped every week by police.. and i mean every week

had lond hair and was 18 at the time...

Straight through system on the 2.7 won't be over load at all and certainly no where near enough to fail an MOT :thumbs
It'll probably get on your nerves pretty soon though if you're using for road journeys to eastern states

dunno tbh, i dont mind the sound, wont be as bad as it is not because the noice will come out at the back, not under the passenger footwell like it is now:doh my dad keeps on saying it needs atleast 1 box in to be road worthy????:nenau:nenau:nenau thiss bull poo

No box needed on old skool oil burner, as long as the system doesn't leak and the gases "Exhaust" out the back somewhere you're fine :thumbs

Ahh, thanks err, will it be legal in eastern Europe since my terrano shall probably be going over at some point, when I can do my trip

No idea mate, but seriously I'd put a tail box on for road trips.
You can easily unbolt it for fun days

You can always make a Y piece with butterfly flap in it. Open for straight through pipe and closed for system :naughty

Don't buy one, you can make one. Just weld two bits of exhaust together and in one of the branches you put a throttle flap or similar and attach to a choke cable. Operated from the dash somewhere.
The rest of the pipe goes out the back.
When opened the exhaust will go straight out the short easy route, all loud like :sly

do you think if i just shoved one of those inline in a straight through it'll adjust the noise oh just cause back pressure?

as long as he's 76 dB or lower, he'll pass. better get my Db meter out
