Crank sensor?

Help please. I've been missled regarding my faulty MAF, it isnt
The man with the computer said no! It's my "crank shaft position sensor":nenau
Can anyone tell me where the ruddy thing is please, and is it a pricey thing?

sure theres been a recent thread on this one? might be wrong, I was once before!!

i did look earlier pete but failed to find it..... i couldnt do too much as when you rang i was welding, and the last time i welded the bloody thing caught fire while i went to make a drink.

i know its here, toolbox is your man there was a bypass to i think

No worries mate, just that the guy and me were unable to find it. He would have given it some testing but ran out of time.
Good thing I know what it is now:thumbs

from what i have read its a common fault code. i guess you have asked toolbox for advise he is here now pm him

Early versions I believe have the sensor located in the timing cover, not as above.

he is early tdi hitachi maf

Having a Hitachi MAF doesn’t necessarily mean it wont be in the bell housing as in the picture, I haven’t personally seen one that isn’t in the bell housing Hitachi or Bosch.
