hi to all. can anyone help please. ive got the crank sensor troubles with my 2.7 tdi terrano 97reg. we got a new sensor from europarts its bosch equivalent, but both plug ends are smaller than the ones on the car.but they are the same type ;both are 3 pin at that end and round at other end with same bolt hole etc. but both are much smaller. dont know what to do?. is there a larger one on earlier models?. or would this europarts one fit? but there will be a gap around the round end so dirt and crap/water can get in so surely cant be right can it?. has anyone had same problem? or can anyone help with some advice. im desperate for help here. will be a headbanger soon!. my mobile number is 07956 606784 as not at laptop til late evenings. if you could help reply on this great site or text me and will ring you back. or if you have a crank sensor that you think will fit mine or know of one will be a great help. many thanks to all. heres hoping. best regards paul:nenau:bow

there are two types. you probably need item code 259777F400, note the F400, this indicated the different sensor for early 97 i think, as far as I can remember, the sensor type changed for 97/98 vehicles, so it depends when in that year, yours was manufactured!

many thanks.

thanks so much clivvy,,thats a really great help. will ring up the suppliers i found on ebay birmingham motor spares, to see if they can get the part number matched up. as nissan dealers are so ridiculously pricey. you know they are asking 290.00 for one of these sensors. and even 259.00 trade price. nuts eh!. thanks again. will keep you posted on the results.:thumbs:bow. best regards. paul

many thanks

many thanks too stinka for replying. will try to sort some pics out. its hitachi nissan sensor with larger plug sizes at both ends but looks the same as bosch one. many thanks. best regards. paul:thumbs

Sounds like you have the same as mine, £190 direct from Nissan, and yes, I had similar issues getting the right part and similar quotes, no it cheap, but as these trucks are so old its pretty much pointless buying used ones-its a magnet, affected by heat, so they pretty much wear out!

If you find some at good prices, I'd let the club know as the ckp issue keeps cropping up for our older trucks!
