Crackly Radio!

I have a WEE problem with the radio in my Ford Maverick! There is some sort of interferance coming from my radio it is sligtly relieved if I wiggle the lever ar the side of the drivers seat which opens the deisel cap. It even crackles when we play CD's. Anyone out there got any ideas

Check the earthing on your aerial to see if that has not corroded and giving a poor earth.Then check the leads from the aerial to the back of the unit to see if they haven't rubbed exposing the wires in particular the fire wall.

Just a thought!
but does the cable for the fuel cap release run past the wiring for the rear speaker/ speakers? could it have worn through it?
