Cracked head / blown head gasket

Just spoken to the garage, he said he put 5 litres of water in it. They only take 6 don't they ? He also said some of the hose and clips look like they've been replaced recently, and possibly the stat, so I think my mate might have been lying to me. Still have to get it back here to check it over. Pictures at 11......

CNC you're bound to have a TD and a TDI engine knocking around. See if you can find the part and take photo's to see if it's on both variants.

They all td and tdi have oil coolers on drivers side near starter

right got it back, no new hoses, the clips are the ones I put on in January last year, the oil leaks no worse than it was then, and it drives exactly the same. ONly one thing, my mates been checking the water level by the bottle not the rad, even though I told him to check the rad, so f knows how long it's had no water in it. makes a knackered gasket and a cracked head seem more likely doesn't it.

Didnt think it was. if the gasket had gone you wouldnt have needed to get it tested you would be looking for a towel:lol

They don't have oil coolers...do they?

i was thinking that myself cos we done a head gasket on my vectra & it turned out to be the oil cooler.

autos definitely have an oil cooler , its built into the bottom of the rad , but that's for atf , not engine oil .

Can't see anything that looks like an oil cooler on mine.

Leaving it on Ebay for now to see what interest I get in parts, had nothing for tree days and today the phone hasn't stopped. No-one wants to pay what I'm asking for parts though ?? Is £500 too much for a rust free front wing

Theres a bloke on ebay got 2 new fourtrak wings hes asking £500 for the pair unsuprisingly he hasnt sold them:lol
Realisticly if you can get more than £50 for second hand wings you are doing very well
