My viscous fan is very wobbly, think the bearing has gone. I searched evilbay but have had no joy. Dont suppose anybody has one knocking about that they wish to sell or know where i mite get one. Any help would be very much appreciated. :bow:bow:bow

Take it off and put it in the bin. Then get a couple of 12v 10" fans that have a theromstat control, and put them on, truck will get warm faster, and it wont take any of the Bhp from the engine running them.

Most people remove them anyway, if your not towing stuff, because the engines run cool anyway.

Just spotted yours in not a Terrano, but same thing really, id still bin it.

I do believe that our 4.2 diesels will need a lot more cooling than you think when they get they're skirts hitched up and start a runnin' hard :sly
So I'd be inclined to go to Milners 1st and if no luck there try Nissan1st breakers, I think they're around Welshpool , google them :thumbs
If both those fail then go twin 14" fans :naughty

Cooling fan

Hi all, I've got a 2.7td mav and the cooling fan is squeaking like mad looks like the spindle that turns the fan is rubbing the engine where it comes out any idea if it's a bearing or something I can change cheers

As i said, if you need to fix it, remove it. stick some twin 12" 12v fans on it. Makeitfit will know moew.

Cheers for the help guys. Ive done a quality bodge for the moment, hopefully will last till i checkout the breakers u mentioned. Think ive driven past the breakers near welshpool so will give them a shout.
Anyway, me and my next door neighbour stripped the viscous unit apart cleaned it out and filled it with silicone. Left it overnight to set and reassembled:thumbs and its done the trick. Also we had to solder the top hose joint on the rad and fitted new top and bottom hoses as the originals were foooked. BIG THANX to BAT21 for the new hoses:bow.
Talking of sapping power my air con hasn't worked for years so whilst the rad was out thought i would lose the air con belt

Sorry to bring up an old thread but im still running with a fixed viscous unit:eek:
So if im to fit twin electric fans to the rad as per original unit I am right in thinking that I need pull fans not push?. sorry to sound dumb:eek:

Cheers makeitfit I thought that was the case. I'm thinking of fitting them as the generic ones are cheaper for two than a new viscous unit
