coolant temp sensors

on my nissan mistral 2.7 td m reg ,i have noticed that there are 3 coolant sensors on the cyl head it looks like a 2pin white /1 pin / 2 pin white sensors
set up .
does any one know what they are for i.e which one for gauge /ecu etc ?
hope someone can shed some light on them

hi jim free.
if i remembe right one nearest rad is temp gauge,contacts get fured up and stop gauge working/or intermittantly.

Hi jimfree, Ian is right, front one is temp gauge, then glow plug control, then auto box control (no od till engine warm).

thanks ,coolant looked rusty (changed} and have been having idle and driving issue with o/d got bit better after coolant replaced bit was looking at changig the sensors
