Hi guys,

Could I please plumb the universal knowledge on the site for some advice?

I had my Control Technique (French MOT test), in 2013, which requires testing every 2 years here, so due in Dec 2015, this year.

I had a short list of advisories, which given the vagaries of my French translation are the following.....

Minor deterioration on brake pipes.
Movement/articulation on ball joint.
Important corrosion on ball joint.
Multiple corrosion on chassis.
Fuel pipes in poor condition.

So, my questions are.......do they mean Track rod end ball joints on the first ball joint issue, or is that the top and bottom bearings on the hemi spherical hub housing?
Can I obtain a set of brake / fuel pipes( or at least the ones that he would observe, from viewing under the ramp)? Do half decent garages make up brake/fuel pipes?

I know far too many vague questions.....sorry....:nenau

Moderators, sorry I may have entered this in the wrong section.......

I speak French - so if you want, put the French text here. As far as advisories go (I know the Belgian system) you should address them.

Have a good look at them - I had advisories for "ball joints" and rust. I know on my truck they mean the top ball joints and the track rod ends. Top ball joint rubber torn, so that's clear :). For rust: I removed visible rust as much as possible and got active with underseal.

As for brake lines/fuel lines: any decent car supply shop can make you those. Just had a part of my brake lines remade. Here they asked me to take the old part, they measured the length needed, cut it from a new pipe and put the connector things on. Reasonable price as well. I did have to bend them myself, but no problem there.

Perelaar,

Thank you for your kind offer, I have PM`d you
