Hi All

We are considering a second car (at some point withing the next 12 months anyway).

I am wanting a Ford Mustang GT 2005-2007 age 4.8 ltr V8.

Does anyone have any experience with these vehicles?

It will be used as my main car and the Terrano will become the toy.

Good luck with running that as a daily motor. I had 4.2 v8 motor of the green oval type a few years back and i could hear it laughin at me as i drove.
Motorway 20mpg around town 12mpg at a push and if i gunned it down to single figures :lol. That said i do like stangs:)

jesus 4.8 ltr as a second car someone pinch him think Gav must be having a dream:lol

the only experience I have is work had one in once. they dont do much to the gallon I know that much, and they arent particularly good to drive, but they look the business and those engines are enormous and very addictive. I suppose as a second car, itll be an abosolute pleasure to own if you have the money to maintain it!

if its V8 power you want, why not consider a Soarer? you can pick up a quad cam V8 for peanuts, and they are extremely good cars, huge, japanese so full of gadgets and will turn head sbecause they just as rare as a Mustang!

lol.

According to the stats the 4.6 V8 one does better MPG than our 4x4's :) Its the 5.whatever one that is crap on fuel. Looking around owner information for them the general concensus seems to be they get around 27 average MPG.

Tax is also less than our cars.

No wedding not cancelled ;) the Mrs might make me wait until after the wedding to be honest.

You dont need to be rich to buy one guys, you can get them for between £9k and £20k depending how old you want it to be....

9k to 20k!!! thats rich to me mate :thumbs
anyhoo, if the MPG is that good (I suspect that is with a light foot) then i say go for it. they are a gorgeous car and one of my all time favourites (fella at work has a 67 Mustang and its beautfiul) I only wish i could advise you more on the car, but not owning one cant possibly give me any worthwhile experience to share. Like I said, I didnt find it particularly good to drive, but then it was left hand drive to be fair.

i dont think i would be buying a yank unless it was a day van... spend your money on a lotus sunbeam or lotus carlton, mexico, brooklands 280 or escort cosworth then you will have a good car that wont lose value..

theres plenty good cars around

I am quite a big fan of American muscle mate, not a big lover of the european / UK sports cars :(

ahhh so the Soarer isnt any good for you then. well, I say if you have it on your mind, go with it, there isnt much other choice in the UK for Muscle cars, you have Dodge Challengers around for cheap and Camaros but even then id be looking at a Soarer as an alternative.
