When I took my car into the garage at work to show one of the mechanics something, he pointed out that I was missing the cup from my drivers side lower arm where the polybushes go.

From memory these are welded to the lower arm aren't they?

If so is it new wishbone time or can I put something else there instead?

Reason I'm asking is he is the guy that will be doing the MOT on it and he's already pulled me up on it saying he will be failing it for MOT if it comes in like that :doh

i'd suspect you can just put a big ss washer there

Take the 1 off the other side :nenau ( being serious )

If not, I guess a gotta sort it

is it the one where the drop link fits through the wishbone up to the arb?

these are compression rods

yeah i know:lol:lol
i dont like it:lol:lol
if its the one which i think it is then its welded to the chassis so chances are there will be some tin worm eating away at it behind the bushes.
makeitfit did an upgrade for rose jointed compression rods.:thumb2

i'd just grind the old bit off and put a new ss washer in its place, its only there to stop the bush pulling through

should have read the title of the thread as it says comp rod bushes:doh:lol:lol
mine are cracked and have passed 2 mots like that.i want to replace the bushes on mine and the ball joints to see if it helps with my camber issues before i start messing with the adjustment shims.

my camber was ok til i replaced the ball joints :lol

need to get it jacked up and check for play in all areas assoiated with front suspension before i buy anything.
milners do the cupped washers for the comp rods:thumb2

The milners link is for the washer at the foremost end of the arm.
I used some huge engine block core/freeze plugs to weld to the chassis eyelets once I'd drilled holes in the middle of them.
I still have a few left.
Will pick them up from work tomorrow as they're in my toolbox.
