So this week James has promised to get the bits of the commercial in his barn so that I can start converting the Mav into a commercial. This includes Window Boards and a full cut to size set of plywood boards.

I've rang Adrian Flux who at first were a little suspicious as to what the purpose of doing this was as I think they thought I would be using it as a van for "work purposes". When I had finally convinced them it was purely for leiusre purposes eg mountain bike, climbing gear etc then they settled on a one off payment of £25.76 :D

I've cleaned the car out in preperation however I have come across a bit of an issue removing the bolts that hold the brackets to the floor, they seem to come out 1/4 of the way and then get majorly tight as if they've got some threadlock on them or something

Has anyone ever removed the rear seats before and had this issue?

Sounds to me as though they project through the floor to the underside of the car, in which case they will be well rusted - best thing is a liberal coating (from above and below) with Plus Gas, WD40 or similar, leave it a day or so to soak in, spray them again and then try to remove them.

That sounds right, after you have used some Plus gas or similar you could undo till they go tight, tighten a little, then undo... they will undo a little more each time.

OR... tighten up, go underneath and grind the excess thread off, then undo.
OR... If you don't need the threads, drill the blighters out.

I had the same problem with mine, simple to fix, jack up the back end, reach over the wheel with a wire brush,
Tighten the bolts first so you can get to all the threads, then WD 40 the cleaner threads and brush again, simples

Top tips guys :) I presume that removing them will leave a hole in the floor so I'll remove the brackets and then put the bolts back in as I don't want to take in any water whilst wading or I'll end up with soggy plywood lol

I'll keep the tread updated with pictures as I go :D

Bit of an update on this one as I've not posted in here for a while

I collected the headboard and floor boards from James
The headboard is great however, the floorboards no so much. They were about 1/2 a foot short from the back door and were very badly cut and had bits missing etc so I've decided I'm going to buy some ply, use the old one as a rough template.

I was recommended 19mm ply by in another thread but I've now been advised by the guy who comes in to do our fleet vehicles at work that 12mm Birch Ply will be more than enough

I've found that since measuring the back of the truck, I'm going to need a piece that measures 6ft x 5ft which is proving a little tricky

I've also since picked up my window boards and seals

Just need to either get them sprayed, or find someone that makes adhesive Vinyl to order and colour match it, not sure if that's even possible :nenau

The new floor boards are in :thumb2

One of my best mates has cut it all to size for me, it is his trade after all :lol

Can't believe how grubby the old ones were, he laughed when he saw them and said "whoever has done these was a cowboy"

Old ones in situe being measured for extra length to make them snug

Just need to give it all a nice scrub down now in the back and a hoover and polish throughout as I've just been chucking my funnel around in there so there is splashes of veg everywhere and mud etc from my wellies

Just need to decide If I'm going to cover the ply now or not :nenau

I've been told to use Altro Walkway but it's very expensive, can any of you guys recommend anything else?

I need your help guys

I'm after some self adhesive vinyl flooring to protect the plywood before I clean all the interior plastics and start putting stuff back in the car

I've been looking at this Altro Walkway stuff but I can't justify spending that much on something that's just acting as a mat :nenau

How did I miss the update:doh floor looks great:thumb2 3 options I can think of is to use spray or brush on adhesive & normal vinyl flooring which might work out cheaper the other option which would prob work out harder wearing is trunk bed liner which you can get spray on or by roller but not sure on the price TBH but some of it is anti-slip which could be handy for you. Lastly the very cheap option would be to just paint the wood & poss staple down a load of anti-slip mat onto the wood
