Having some problem with the engine on my 2.7 diesel Terrano. When it is idling there is no smoke at all. If I then rev the engine it emits light blue colour smoke and has a minor mis-fire. When driving car there is no exhaust smoke even if I put my foot down and does not appear to mis-fire. I have recently changed the fuel filter which didn't seem to make an difference. ANYONE ANY IDEAS:nenau:nenau:nenau PLEASE>

Give us the rough mileage and age of car, i.,e. is is TD or TDi etc..:)

we need to know if its TD or TDI.

if TD, check mini filter in the banjo bolt. Check for fuel leaks/air getting into the system

if tdi, check MAF and the above except you mightnot have mini filter

just a start.

I asked the same question last week and had not a lot of response (other things were going on around here though) the 2005 TDI in question is on a Nissan fault finding computer as we speak, so if yours is a TDI with bosh maf etc. It may be the same issue, I'll tell you when I know more. :thumb2

Exhaust smoke - light blue colour.

Thanks for the interest. Fairly new to site. The vehicle in question is a SWB Terrano 2.7TDI, 1998 model. Hope this helps. The mileage is 66,000.
Thanks WADEY.:clap:clap:clap

Slightly off topic (but still in the same ball park) as I have been confused slightly by this thread responses.

I have the T2 and I think on the paperwork it says its a TD but it has a MAF which reading above means its a TDI? Noob question I know, but how do I know for sure? lol
