colder than cold....

Hi,
Just thought that someone might be able to adviseme on my tempreture gauge displayed in the dash.
I thought it was broken, but in the summer in a stand still of traffic it moved 3mm above the line, but never again have I seen it move...I am now (no complaints in summer note!..LOL) experiencing cold heat?? & lukish warm if fan is on full blast but only after at least half an hour running time...
& can it be in lay mans terms please...as although I know my way around the verbal of an engine I dont like to get any dirt on me unless I really really need tooooooo.......
I was thinking of investing in a new rad thermosate...& a hotter heater one???

only me again. have you got air con. If so could be your airfilter for teh air con needs to be changed ( download section )

or teh fact that the terrano / maverick are over cooled so dont get to warm any ways. theres another thread about this some where i think.

Definitely sounds like a thermostat stuck open or not fitted to me...

Now when I said basic & hate too get the hands dirty...is that the thermostate that lives on/in the radiator???? or is this the one that lives in various places which I have now just to find??????

its normaly on the engin side of teh top hose... but t be honest ive never seen or looked for mine on the T2.

theres a namual you can down load .. will did out link for my lady 2

mine is similar , a bit cool.....i know there is no fault, cos when its relativley mild werather, the heater is sound, but as of late the -6 temp , the motor wont warm up until she's done 20mile..

i fixed it with the ol' cover the grill with cardboard trick.......lovelly & warm now :lol

Exactly the same, I have a matt black painted plywood cover that I fit behind the grill, held in place by 1 6mm bolt. Leave it in for the winter and remove in the spring.
Takes 5 min to fit.
The problem is that the fan is huge and air cools the engine bay.

problem with the way the fan works means that on start up it roars away for the first 1/2 mile
just when it's not needed, no wonder it takes so long to reach running temp. If you start the engine with bonnet open it's like a hurricane in there.....regards...bri
