put some diesel in lol aint jokin either i had problems startin once when cold, i had to WALK  to the petrol station and get can filled up, only 5 liters put it in and gave truck a shake to mix it up, turned engine a couple of times and it started

I've been running at closer to 70% diesel with this little cold snap. It sucks having to use more diesel, but I'd rather it start and run than not.

Rapeseed does not thickken as much as soya, a bit of petrol thins too. Get your ass to Farmfoods . Check the plugs. David.

On the Beast im running 100% diesel now, but on Misty she is at about 50% SVO and diesel.

Beast dont like cold mornings, even with a new battery, but Misty is fine.

I will start to thin it down a little though as it gets colder.

Check your glow plugs 50% veggie should start a piece of p1ss:augie
Check your compression if the glow plugs and relay are fine.

I run till I'm empty and then whack 20 litres of Diesel in and then the rest SVO or WVO, whatever I've got really

Didn't know that :/, think I'll be trying to get as much SVO as I can then until the temp picks up next year

I think its the starter motor Pete as its a bit slow. Just put new Glow plugs in.
If i roll it down hill it will fire right away and once started keep starting alday.

Mine likes 20% petrol and a shot of diesel too in this colder weather to get easy starts, I have shiny new glow plugs, there in the boot :doh!

Without the diesel and on soya oil, I was struggling to get her fired up on a cold one, rest of the neighbourhood usually disappeared in a cloud of white smoke when she finally got started. :augie

Waste veg oil is a pain at this time of year. The solid fats are impossible to filter out to 1 micron and you will need several stages, a messy and slow job. New oil is an easier way but costs more. At 50% your fuel should be about £1.20/L. David.

Yer not kidding, I have a 30L container of waste oil jelly in the garden at the moment, normally 50% of it would be usable. Trouble is I need to suss out somewhere to store the damn stuff as I don't want to lose the free collection. I think I'm going to have to accelerate my plans to build a proper bio plant.

I'm so glad I dont need all this bother anymore, just run neat bio :sly
Cheap as chips :lol
Well £1.10 at the mo  usually under a quid but our usual maker has gone under cover :augie

If I could convince the wife that buying bio in bulk was a good idea, I'd probably go down the same route.

Needless to say, I'll probably go the usual way of spending £100's to save £10's but hopefully I'll end up with a easy enough setup for making bio and dealing with the manky oil without too much hassle.

Pete I am in talks with another 4x4 friend in welshpool who says he pays £1 a litre for any amount big or small. Just seeing if his bio friend does larger quantities for you. :thumbs
