the dreaded code 34 has come up on our terra today wife came home saying mil lights on and car wont rev it was in limp home mode injector needle lift sensor number 1 injector/air in fuel lines

im hoping it just air in the fuel lines and or the fuel filter is blocked i get nothing from the drain plug in the bottom of the filter when i bleed it and i can see bubble in the supply fuel line which is odd as i replaced them from the tank to the filter over a year ago. when i prime the filter i can see the bubbles in the clear fuel line but still nothing from the drain plug very odd

so mil light is on code 34 comes up i suspect my fuel filter is fecked but after checking on here could be number 1 injector :( i will report back tomorrow after changing the fuel filter and bleeding the system we have been running on svo with 5% petrol to thin it until last week when i had to fill up on pump derv so its almost pure dino in the tank the fuel is clean so no issues

i tried to clear the fault code with no luck and can only get the mil light to flash with the ignition on and the shorting link connected again very odd any ideas on this one ?

I think do what you're doing now 1st. Quick n easy to have a butchers at your filter. Could be a bit bunged.
Did you bin all the steel fuel pipes ie go straight to the tank ? If so check connections etc.

hmmm...when I had a code 34, I HAD to buy a new No1 injector - tried everything to clear it. £120 I paid, so not the end of the world for a brand new part.

yep have come to that conclusion new injector no 1 is £145 plus vat have just orderd a new one the fuel filter was fecked but not causing the problem.

got a deisel nock on the engine too have disconnected the sensor no difference in engine performance MIL on permanantly new part arrives tomorrow at the factors will fit and report back

so i have just finished replacing no1 injector and am happy to report the terrano is no fixed mil light went out engine revs freely and cars drives better than before if any one else gets code 34 just replace the injector and make sure you buy the correct socket todo it.
you will need an sx024 socket plenty on ebay i picked one up from the local motor factors for £14

will give it a good test later so far it also seems to have cured the slight miss fire we were getting but its to early to tell for sure

Well done, I'm glad you got it mended.
