Howdy all, possibly one day next weekend or after, would anyone be free to have a listen and a little drive of my old girl please? I am happy to drive to you.

Reason i ask is, under load, when changing gear there is whuring noise when pedal is pressed and occasionally gear changes are a Little difficult.

The biting point on the clutch is very very low! And infact the pedal does not feel nice and also squeaks when pressed. :bow

I'm up the M40 at junction 5 and am around next week, morning only though, if that helps

I am on the south coast, Bexhill if you want to pop over fine by me, but I suspect when the pedal is down you are getting engine crank thrust bearing noise, (nothing to worry about) and squeeks well blast some spray oil up into the linkage, Rick

I like the sound of "nothing to worry about"

Thanks for both of your replies. I am working this weekend once payday comes around i will defo pop down and see one of you if that's ok :)

Would be nice for some re assurance :thumb2

Thought my gear changes weren't smooth, but infact you must press the pedal into the floor it seems!!

im just off junc 4 on the m25 and have much clutch experience with out T2 lol

you might just have some air in the hydraulics, there is a bleed nipple on the mater cyl open it up and let some fluid out, air rises to this point if you get a little air before fluid then that will sort it, Rick

Oh junction 4 n 5 is very close to me! And m40 is always empty :D

When would anyone be free? Could we do after end of month as I'm skint at the mo and I'd want to give someone something for their time :thumb2

im about most weeks and i dont want anything for looking/listerning to your terrano and if all it needs is bleeding that a simple thing to do pm me and il give you my number am happy to help

The noise will be thrust bearing wear, if it squeals as opposed to whirring, you'll need it changed ASAP or it will seize and take out the pressure plate, a low pedal usually means the straps on the preuure plate are losing the tension that moves the face away from the plate when the diaphragm lifts, but it's more than likely your pressure plate has clips that do the same thing, so bleeding should sort it.

My pedal squeaked too, I used GT85, quick spray and all was quiet again.

I sell clutches and Terrano's are one of 4x4's that don't seem to be hard on them. When my one had it's gearbox bearing changed, the clutch came out you could have put it back in again and got another 50k out of it.

looks like iv found the problem to alexs new terrano. the clutch master cylinder has faided its leaking fluid pushrod side into the cabin will be a simple fix just needs a new master cylinder and that will sort it.
