I have a Terrano 2 1999 which has a "sticking clutch pedal". By that I mean that it doesn't always fully return-sticking half way up and needs a foot behind it to return it to the normal position!
Is this simply a matter of bleeding the hydraulics or is it likely to be more sinister that that?
Regards,
Fred

I have the same problem but mine kinda sticks 3/4 of the way up but does come all the way up itself, I also hear the (what I assume to be a spring) sqeeking. I assume its my spring thats worn, could it be the same with yours?

clutch

Hi
common problem for clutch to drop on a morning I have to lift with foot I have had my T2 since 2004 Then i add a leak near back wheel arch this is the reply below clutch has never dropped once since.

pipe to back is your clutch damper pipe some people blank it off as they tend to corode and once blanked suposed to give you a lighter clutch pedal.

My mav did the same when I first got it in June. The pedal seemed to be slightly bent to the right and catches on something causing it to stick. A few tugs to the left and a spray with wd40 cured mine and has been fine since. Nev

clutch pedal

Hi all just cured the same problem recently..... found that the pedal would nor return fully after found out that the problem with mine was a brokern clutch pedeal bracket, where it fixes the pedal arm to the bulk head, awkward job to see, had to lay on my back and look up at the pedal from the footwell. could see that the welds on the bracket had snapped,
1. remove the master clutch cylinder 2 bolts, and one pipe,
2. dont forget to remove the small pin and slpit pin from the top of the clutch pedal arm.
3. renove ethe top bolt from the top of the bracket and the pedal bracket and arm should come off,
not got the use of a welder so i fabricated a repair by using some metal strips, used some smallnuts and bolts to fix the bracket, making sure not to obstruct the cable entry point for the clutch.

refitted, while i had the master cylinder off i cleaned it out and then bleed it,

fixed my clutch no problem hope this helps
merry christmas to all

Hi all,

Same happened to my 97 model some time ago, rewelded it and it lasted until I got one from the scrappy and beefed it up before replaced it, apparantly a common fault.

i had this problem three weeks ago i pushed it in and it was getting worse on returning it eventually went in and didnt come back up seized piston in master cylinder ,there was a thread on it on here i changed the master in the end and the cylinder seal had split causing the pedal to feel very hard to push in and very stiff pulling out ,if this is the case it will go on you and theres no avoiding it ,maybe not but once new master on pedal is as springy and light as a feather returns very fast
