I have been finding at times that when I put my foot on the clutch pedal in the morning there doesn't seem to be a lot of play in it and it's hard to get in gear then I pump the pedal and all is well and it will work perfectly all day...the last few inches of pedal don't return well either and I have to flick my toes to get it back in position..I have fitted a brand new 3 piece clutch so there can't be a fault there........

Is there a common problem with the clutch on these

I read something about this recently, something to do with the springs on the pedal ?

Could be the spring... cheap as chips (pence) even from Nissan so worth changin.

On mine though changing the spring made no diff... and was doing exacly as you describe. I had a new clutch pedal assembly fitted (at 29k miles) under warrentry, I asked and they said the part was about £56.00, fitted in under an hour so must be fairly simple to do??? :thumb2

There's a thin 'top-hat' style plastic bush which sits in the pedal where the rod from the master cylinder joins the pedal. This bush wears through and can cause strange noises such as squeaking or even a loud clunking when you use the pedal.

Unfortunately Nissan don't sell just the bush seperately from the clutch pedal assembly. I've fixed mine for now by just rotating the bush a bit but eventually I'll need a new bush.
