Hi all

Have replaced the clutch, slave cylinder and master cylinder and blanked off the damper that's near the rear axle, it was corroded and the pipe not much better.

All works fine, but now have an engine resonance through the clutch pedal. With the pedal all the way up or all the way down its silent. When pressing the clutch down or releasing the noise is evident. The noise is an engine vibration, the noise rises and falls with the RPM of the engine.

Cant see any metal pipes touching, have insulated the slave rod against the clutch release arm. Clutch pedal is secure.

Any clues? Does the rear damper act as a sound damper or as a hydraulic damper?

Cheers

quick question, what thread size and type did you use to blank off the damper?

There could still be some air in the line.

Unless you have found the real reason why Nissan put in the damper line, we have never found out why it was there.:nenau

People who have removed it have had no problems.

Your vehicle might be the only one that really needs it :doh
I doubt it though....:augie

Cut the damper line and put a ball bearing in to the 3 way block at the slave end.

System has been bled to death! All bushings intact on pedal.
