Hi guys, can anyone offer me any advice please. We have got the two lower bolts, well nuts.

The problem we are having is the top mounting. It’s tucked up behind the spring which won’t move at all.
I’ve added a photo, there is a black plastic air duct just above the yellow and red wire. This duct seems to get in the way.
I’ve wondered about the lower dash panel, if I removed that would it help?

The photo is in an earlier thread here.

i am sure i got a socket on mine may have been a 1/4 drive socket is easier with the lower dash panel removed as you can see it clearer jim

I was just going to reply back but thanks I can confirm lower dash panel removed is the way to go, just have to be careful as the mirror switch is very delicate. Those mirror switches spring apart for the fun of it:doh

All fitted now so will take it out for a drive after tea.

While doing the starter repair on the plain we needed a bolt and the clutch pedal height limit bolt was just what we needed, so pulled it out and gave it to Zac who fitted it, the one I extracted from a not important engine lifting eye was not long enough but was good to go as a replacement for the clutch stop, but it was tight in the threads (probably cos I hacked the washers off to gain some length) so had to spanner it all the way, while doing so noticed the said bracket was flopping about wildly, so got a light on the job and it was just the top nut loose, all I had was a 3/8 drive deep socket and ratchet, but got it done up with that by pressing the pedal to the floor, the socket then went on OK, no panels removed, Rick
