Right I've just about finished off the clutch after too much lpg I guess :lol
What's the general consensus now regarding engine out or conventional fannying about underneath? :nenau
I can borrow a garage for a weekend :D

Poss bias to engine out as I'd like to try some head work too. Maybe easier if it's all out :nenau

get a new one and start from scratch.....learn from your mistakes :lol:lol:lol:lol

My experience, engine out by far the best, and there are many specialist clutch manufactures out there for extra duty clutches, re the engine out job, you have to drop the front diff, but believe me this is easier than taking the box out, I have done both and would only take the box out if the box was at fault, Rick

listen to Rick he has the force within him and is usually right :bow:bow

Thanks Rick, sounds like a plan.
I'm going for the 3.0 l clutch as the specialist stuff was just bonkers money
How long does it take to get the engine out and diff off, assuming competent diy
types  with a good hydraulic engine hoist ;)

Swifty does them in a day, and the good bit is you have control of the engine/box alignment when refitting, no chance of big box dropping and bending center plate while putting the two together, Rick

I can only dream of emulating Swifty
I'll be about a week then :lol

Saw Police mechanics do a few when they were running Terranos and they did it by just undoing the rear torsion bar cross member and flexing the torsion bats enough to get the box clear rather than removing the torsion bars as the manual says.

Front diff was a reall apin when i did it - getting at the 6 bolts each side that attache the driveshafts is a real pain, even with a ratchet spanner
