Hi,
does anyone have any idea whats going on with my clutch? have lost the pedal again( sitting on the floor). Have had new master cylinder, flexy hose and block to the slave cylinder, changed the clutch pipe along the length of the car due to corrosion. did all this because the corroded pipes ingressed and blocked the master. thought ide cured it. yet last night same again- a gradual loss of pedal until nothing. cannot even select agear now. had just almost completed a 280 mile round trip towing a horse trailer, was just 20 mile from home and lost clutch. prior to that it went like a dream. Could the problem be internal? the pressure plate? im a bit stuck with this one. If i needed a clutch, where do i buy from, what they like to fit, who do you recommend, and finally what sort of cost?
Thanks in advance Wayne
ps aint losing fluid from anywhere, thats why im baffled.

have u changed the clutch slave cylinder itself, the seals can fold the other way so u lose the pedal, also u wont lose any fluid, clamp of the clutch flexi pipe and see if u get a pedal,if u do u know the problem is the slave side and if there is no pedal will be master cylinder,it is possible that the clutch release bearing has gone through the cover, shame u are not near bournemouth as i could fix it for u,hope the info is of some use.

Thanks Priorperformance for your answer. a friend of mine told me last night that he thought that the thrust bearing had probably gone into the pressure plate, as indeed you have said. going to investigate as soon as possible. Aint looked yet but is there a way of looking for this damage, say an inspection plate? havent changed the slave, does look like a new one(aint had it long) but after the other work was done it bled no problem and had a good clutch, albeit for only a short while.
