Im well aware of the rusty dampner pipe, which last year i cut down and crimped, took to work and welded the end with the Oxy, but she is weaping and its getting rather frustrating having to top up and bleed every few days :lol

Ive got a spare union thats the same thread on a ford ranger steering rack, my local hydraulics place want 33 quid for a blank :eek::eek: and they wouldent tell me the tread size

Anybody got any idea's so i can order one online?

Cheers all

plenty of peps have removed the damper all together a easy job.

I am sure I read on here that the front flexible brake pipe are a direct replacement for the clutch flexible pipe that has the 3 way bock in it, and a lot cheaper as well. If you are going to get underneath to mess around, you might as well just change the pipe.

As LazyFerret says, there is a brake hose without the third port in the little metal block.
When I did mine I bought a standard hose and went to a local bolt supplier who found a bolt with correct thread. Then I took the bolt to a small engineering shop who shortened the bolt and machined the end of the bolt to suit the contours of the block. Sorry sounds complicated.

I just used a compression end cap thing, Cost me about 2 pounds.

Can't remember the outside diameter of the damper pipe but it's something like this:

Yeah thats what i wanna use, my Thread gauge does not have that particular thread on it....frustrating lol

was going to just replace the pipe from master to slave, but as im doing the house, have a 2 year old and a great dane puppy, time to potch at the moment is not my friend :lol:lol:lol

Why can't you just cap the pipe? Or has it been made too short??

well my missus was using the mav when this started last year, i told her its probably the dampner pipe who then relayed the information to her father aka BODGE IT AND LEGIT

He removed the dampner pipe, and cut the pipe almost flush with the union, i sourced another from work, iirc it was from a ford ranger steering rack, but the pipe was bent and buckled so couldent pipe an olive and union on the end, so just crimped and welded with oxy best i could
