Hi All,

Ive not posted for a while as not much has been happening apart from work but today I finally got round to removing the clutch damper pipe that looked that it was about to crumble into several pieces. Ive read through a few threads about doing this and have seen the warnings about vibrations noises etc... but I can report since removing their have been no ill effects and the clutch feels lighter and has more feel to it, I also changed the slave cylinder while I was at it as the rubber boot on the old one had perished. Ill list the bits I used and part numbers in case anyone else needs the info.

Terrano MK1 clutch hose: Blueprint ADN153906 £13.98

TRW Clutch Slave Cylinder PJD253 £9.00 (same as a 300ZX Z31)

And pictures of the finished job:thumbs

I also needed a way of securing the new hose so I modified a 205GTI rear brake pipe holder and bolted it to the original mount almost looks factory ;)

Hope ive been of some help cheers guys.

Some great posting there, I'm sure we'll refer back to this when we need too.

It's got me thinking, maybe I should remove mine, the clutch seems fine and is relatively new but does some times slip a little when I've been towing for a while.

How high is your biting point Doug?

Err good question :D it doesn't feel particularly high or low but it's not something I really think about, so I supose that is a sign it's about right but I will have a check tomorrow :thumb2
Why do you ask?

Only because mines quite high could be down to pedal adjustment due to to me getting rid of the big balloon in the line

So I've noticed the biting point is a little on the high side ever since you asked, someone told me the other day how to adjust it and said it ain't that hard to do.

Why did you use a mk1 terrano hose, is that how to get rid of the damper pipe?

Cheers dor the info on the biting point Doug, Ive driven another terrano since and its the same albeit my pedal has more feel to it guess its because of the damper removal. Yes the mk1 terrano flexi doesnt have the 2 way connector for the damper and is a direct fit.

No worries mate, come to think of it I drove jimsterrano's 3.0 the other day and didn't notice any real difference to mine, must be how they are.

Mk1 pipe it is then, it's on my list of preemptive repairs :lol cheers bud :thumbs

Not all Mk2's have the damper, just like not all Mk2's have the EGR, Rick

Rick, Would it be right to say that there was a sort of mk 1.5 between 98 and 01 when both had bits off each other?

Not sure all I can say is I have seen many with EGR and many without even on the same year, same goes for damper pipe, Rick

This is just information i need dude

ive just phoned around my locals and they are quoting me £18 for the hose and £22 for the slave :eek::eek:

I got mine fro GL motor factors in bolton but I have a trade account with silly discount. Try euro car parts and haggle on the phone it works ;).

Keep checking euro site for discount days, they have them all the time, rustic put me onto that one and I've had some decent savings out of them.

Last hose and block with no balance pipe connection from my local factors was £17, Rick
