my garage local to me has suggested changing the flywheel at the same time as the clutch. trying to find one!! has been suggested it may not have a fly wheel?? i expect it does, where can i find one cheap? and should i need to fit it

2.7 td with 120,000 FORD CAN'T GET ME ONE!!

Can't think why you'd need to change the flywheel for a typical worn out clutch job ?
Carry on and leave it there :D

Do any of the terranos have dual mass fly wheels as maybe that they're on about

They are probably covering themselves in case... but either way... ask if you can call in to view the flywheel in place, or get them to take a few pics with your camera, if they won't let you near due to health and safety...:augie

The wear on the flywheel is proportional to how long it has been slipping and when getting hot due to the slip. I'm not aware of any one replacing a flywheel on a Terrano or Maverick for any reason, unless the outer ring has been damaged by the starter pinion.

It could be that the ring gear is worn, apparently rick was telling me when he was trying to fix my starter problem:bow that the engine always stops in one of three places so these areas get worn excessively by the starter :nenau

that dual mass thingy he mentioned that. he wanted to know if it was one. was thinking in my time on this mortal planet, if i've or me dad have had a clutch done never changed a flywheel. was getting panickey when ford said they couldn't get one.

milners have two clutches listed for this vehicle, ones 75 and one 108 i think.

both look same ??
