dont understand it. took caravan to west runton no problem. found if im doing 55 ish then floor it hard and fast the clutch slips if im in 5th doing 25 30 and floor it no problem. towed van home today going uphill overtaking lorries accelerating hard and fast no clutch slip .wtf is going on any ideas please apart from dont drive hard.

it has been said that the flexi pipe from the clutch can collapse internally and give odd symptoms, 'solarman' is experienced in these thing I'm sure he will be along soon :thumb2

At 50-60mph the engine is likely turning at rpms where it produces max torque. This is the point where the clutch is under the most strain to transmit without slipping.

Are you running stock power ? If standard then you've got problems as the standard clutch is normally happy to 160hp at least...

Is this a new clutch then??

i think its been tweaked sometime in its life it goes like doo doo off a stick. had full clutch kit.slave.master and flexi pipe all under 5000 miles ago.

I would be checking that the slave cylinder can be pushed back by hand, if not then something is wrong and could be much the same as riding the clutch, it should not be slipping after 5k, Rick
