A quick way to check is to jack up one front wheel (make sure the hub is switched to "unlock") and turn it - you should be able to tell if you're turning the driveshaft or if it's rotating freely and with your lokka fitted I would think it wouldn't rotate at all if the hub is staying locked.
Just back to this squeaking, if it's a rotational squeaking (as opposed to on constant noise) it could well be the ujs, mine did it in 2wd and 4wd, turns out they were knackered.
And yours being a 2005 I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same set up ad mine.
