Closed throttle braking

Does anyone know if when you're going down hill say and throttle is off(closed), does the pump still inject any diesel?
Hope to get the gas in this week and I've been asked:augie
I've also switched my Tunit out with a 4 pole switch so I can keep the revs down when engine braking.

No it doesn't, not above about 1400rpm anyhow!

Think it depends on the year and the specific management - mine doesn't on the later bosch management.

Also has the damn throttle cut with breaking so no left foot braking for me in the T2 :-(

Mines the very ealy TDi and has the Hitachi maf :augie
No prob with the left foot braking on mine Was trying it at the weekend on a pay n play site near Cardiff. Got the O/S hub proper upset trying to get out of a rut. Need a bit more finess me thinks as the auto hub was clunking quite badly with my left boot
Was also getting some result with the handbrake to swap which back wheel was slipping:sly
