My time digital clock on my 1995 terrano dashboard does not light up when i turn the lights on.

How could I repair this? would i need a new clock or is there likely to be something i can change somewhere? :)

Sounds like the bulb has blown which means that the dashboard need to come out. Not to bad of a job to get it out, just a case of finding all the bolts and screws that holds the dashboard in place.

Don't force anything as the bolts and screws are often hidden by another panel that needs to come off.

I'll take a better look when I get chance, its not a major problem just a bit annoying when i cannot see the time at night :)

I dont fancy taking the dash out at the moment, maybe i should buy a little torch for now :thumb2

Steve easy to do

first pull off section of door rubber near to dash.
remove screws in bottom section of dash near pedals. Two screws one each side.
and a screw under the screw cover on side of lower dash.
Dash section can now be removed.

Look where the speedo is there are three screws above it. Remove these and then two screws which would have been cover by the lower section of the dash.

You should now see the instrument cluster. 4 Screws hold this in remove this and pull the panel forward. you can now get to the 3 lights that light up this section.

PS go to nissan and get bulbs before you do this. Mine was 3 led bulbs with a blue base.

20 min job.

i think darwin has some led bulbs.. diferent colours too

Darwins got a post about all this and photo's of his LED bulbs. Didn't know you had to remove the lower dash board panels to get the cluster out on the early T2, thought it was just the black surround held in with 3 screws above the cluster?

Hi the lower panel needs to be removed as you need access to two screws

paulp

ps it is an easy job :thumb2

Hi.
I used to think my clock lights were u/s but realised that they are on whenever the ignition is turned on . Can't see them during daytime; they are not bright enough, when it's dark it's a different kettle of fish. Switching sides/heads on has nothing to do with clock light ; but perhaps you know this already:):augie----in which case-----please ignore this posting !!!!!

lol i didnt know that already because the clock light has never worked on my car :thumb2

cheers Terranoman, I will attempt the clock after I have fixed my upside down windscreen wipers that actually wipe the bonnet :doh
