Auto hubs not working properly

I'd be suspecting the auto locking hubs are sticking. They may simply need a service as per the download or they brake rings might be damaged. Take note whilst driving around normally and see if they do it whilst in 2wd turning into junctions too.
If not them it could be CV joints but my bet is still the hubs. Mine did same and eventually over heated on one side.

Will strip them next weekend doesn't do it in two wheel drive so I was suspecting either hubs or drive shaft 4 wheel drive seemed to work fine today

Clicking when turning in 4 wheel drive, high or low, under these circumstances unless you are on the slippery stuff, you will be getting transmission wind up.

So something has to slip, usually a tyre on the ground. BUT this wind up is putting extra force on the drive line. Prop shafts, CV joints, diffs, and the transfer box, and the front hubs of course.

Now, you need to check ALL 4 Universal joints for play, check for side play etc.
You could service the front auto hubs, and whilst you are at it, when the hub is removed, check that there is a circlip (snap ring ) on the end of the drive shaft, if not there the the drive shaft will pop in in and out of the hub.:doh:doh

So a couple of cheap and easy things to check to start with, before investigating more expensive components.:thumb2
