54 plate Nissan Patrol is running and pulling well. No signs of over heating but after a run when I stop there is a loud clicking from underneath the bonnet. Sounds like something hot cooling down. Any ideas?
Thank You

I get them occasionally too

all things that heat up and cool down can produce expansion/contraction noises, never noticed on mine but my hearing is goosed anyway, Rick

Cooling down noises.

Sounds normal too me usually it is from the exhaust / manifold areas as they get pretty hot under there.

I have found cheap thinner aftermarket sytems seem louder than originals.

Most likely exhaust, as this is the hottest part with the most expansion, it could be heat shields or exhaust clamps, it might be worth undoing a support clamp eg the one on the gearbox, ( if it's the same as a Terrano) and reclamping it.

Thank you. Leaving for the Sahara in a couple of weeks and becoming paranoid about sounds and smells!! I do miss the confidence of youth
