Can it be done?

I believe this unit is on the pedal itself, just wondering if its cleanable, after reading a bit on google I stumbled across someone online who had the same code "p02f4" and turned out to be a TPS. If you guys remember i've had issues with this sensor on and off for months (we believe)

Spray it with something? :nenau

Pretty sure that there will be some sort of spring in there that will need grease and maybe some kind of potentiometer in there that you might be able to spray with contact cleaner :nenau

The workshop download doesn't go as in to detail as to show the internal workings of the TPS but its No3 in this picture so at least you know what you're looking for

perhaps trying to find these earth points mentioned here from his last thread.

still strange I can get upto 80mph before the light comes on...

"yeah, if you look drivers side engine block, near the dip stick, i believe the two earths there are for the pedal. made a difference to my pedal when i gave them a really good clean when i was diagnosing my problem-but didnt fix the issue, i ended up buying two pedals, the second being the one that has been ok. never refitted the old ones to test/confirm"

I will also see if I can check tightness of fuel filter too :nenau

are you still running veg?

yardy, but problems I have dont really point that way, its actually got £20 quids worth of diesel mixed in with about a barrel and a half at the mo.

Symptoms in a nutshell are sometimes take off at lights is boggy, and power is sluggish upto 2500rpm

and engine light came on at 80mph...

They do to me :doh:doh I would run 100% diesel to eliminate it or you could look at spending money on stuff that may not need replacing.

Either the crap soya stuff is taking effect or the terrano does not like the high mixtures you are giving it

As I've said before I had this. After running fine on soya for 6-8 months it decided it didn't like it, getting worse to the point of mil light coming on all the time

Switch to rape, ...

Have you checked for the filter in the banjo bolt & cleaned it if fitted ? if it's dirty or partly blocked the pump won't be getting the fuel it wants:augie

Cannot stress enough how right he is and that's what I would try next

Goo shout, I will have to try this, just very coincidental timing. Filter saved the day, did 120 miles then these problems came on.

As it happened I just filled up 20litres of disel :clap:eek:

I believe it was using veg that led to the demise of my first terrano.
It started with the eml light coming on and lack of power.
Filter change and diesel sorted it for a while but in the end I got injector pump failure.
Might save in the short term but the savings didn't balance with the bill to repair it.
Was a bit apprehensive when I started using bio but so far she has been ok.only time will tell.
