hi all can I use white sprits to do this or is there something better . I got a 1 1/2 tins of engine degreaser I could use if it doesn't do any damage

inside to get the oil and gunk out

Dont know i wouldnt worry about it unless theres loads of oil in there in which case it will just run out if you take it off .unless youve got problem with turbo there shouldnt be more than a few drops in there

I only wanted to do it because every now and then I keep get a sudden boost when accelerating . as If the turbo kicked in . it only last for 2-3 seconds but I gives you the car a good kick forward . I have checked the turbo its fine

When I cleaned out my last one I used paraffin, took it off & filled it up & leelft it to soak for a couple of hours, drained it then hosed it inside for awhile before shoving the wifes hair drier into one of the oppenings for a food 1/2 hour on highest settings to dry it out nicely:thumbs

I did mine recently and filled it with petrol and left to soak for a while then emptied and refilled.
I did this a couple of times until the fluid coming back out was clean, then just left it for an hour or two on its end, so any leftover would either drip out or evaporate.

did you clean the oil catcher with petrol at the same time ?

I used petrol also . There will be a certain amount of oil but it does get bad if the oil seperator thing is goosed. It's meant to be cleanable but I reckon just bin it and fit an oil catch tank. That way the I/C will stay clean and therefore COOL , which is handy :D
