I just fitted a new (s/h actually) MAF to my truck, was idling very low, very easy to stall and felt like whenever I took m. Foot off the throttle, that an exhaust brake was retarding it. Took the original MAF off, and it was full od hay/dust and such.
Put on the new one and it was an instant difference, now it seems to have reverted back to driving poor again.
I mentioned cleaning it to the garage man and he said not to as it's a heated element inside.
Whats the chances I've just been unlucky? Is there any way to diagnose a failure with a multimeter? Will disconnecting it totally make it any better? Any loom faults to check for? Am I ok to clean it with brake cleaner?
Cheers in advance!
