the girlfriend had this problem, I found a 5p wedged in the socket!

already looked inside but couldn't see anything, i'm wondering if a wire has come loose in the back

no relavance atr all, but i found out today the socket in the boot space is permanently live! Ideal for charging stuff.

I have 3 lighter sockets in mine, it came with only 2 seats, and i don't smoke :lol

Thanks a lot for posting this when it dark and the temperatures plummeting Plank!

Now I have to go and check mine :doh

i used mine to inflate bike tyres today and I was very happy to not have to keep switching the ingnition on and off!

would u stop teasing me with all ya working lighters i just want the one 1 single uno i have to work lol

id hazard a guess the wires have come off the back and are shorting intermittantly .... or you have a corroded socket...... replacement ciggie sockets are quite easy to come by

briggie has the best advice, you can usualy pop lighter sockets out throught the hole left by removing the ash tray, though I haven't paid much attention in a t2, you can get a new one from ebay for about £3 delivered.

I agree with Briggie...

If in doubt.................. Whip it out.................

Check the connections or replace the connector.

Also some plugs are able to short out the connector, on a couple of plugs, I have added some insulation tape towards the outer edge of the side contacts, as these can short the connections.

I have also added a live socket in the boot and an extra one at the rear of the hand brake centre console, for rear seat passenger mp3 players etc

so ther IS space there.. when i looked theres a BIG metal box in mine..

In the centre console in my mav, there is a storage box (plastic) that takes casettes etc,
The socket I fitted is on the back, centre about 1 1/2" off the floor.

In the boot the socket is on nearside panel, about 1 1/2" forward of the 7th lower seat belt fixing and about 3-4" above it.

I feel a picture coming on..... BUT........

What's the best way of putting pics on this site without spending time re-sizing them?:nenau
